THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN

Hi,
So many places to eat fried chicken...I love a great fried chicken breast. Love when we go to a good buffet and I can pig out on my favorite comfort food.....Where can I find good fried chicken in the New Jersey area..especially a buffet place where I can really enjoy!!!

    hi leethebard,
there is a real good place right there in your hometown of Brick, NJ..

it is called Chicken Towne .. great fried chicken made to order, real good buffalo wings ,as well..

Sorry, it is not a buffet, but it is worth going to, IMO. The owner is very efficient and pleasant, as well. Makes me feel he's glad to have me as a customer.

I have'nt come across any real good fried chicken in these Atlantic City buffets.

I like the fried chicken at the Golden Corral Buffet, but there is only 1 location in NJ. It's in Audubon, on the edge of Camden. (went there last week)

There was a thread about NJ Fried Chciken a couple of months ago, I think it was in "Where Should I Eat". Anyway, as I recall, no one was able to come up with a winner, we all sort of agreed that NJ is not a great place for Fried Chicken. My suggestion was Roselle Fried Chicken, in Roselle which is the best I've found in Union County. But it's not even a restaurant, let alone a buffet, it's just takeout.

As for buffets, you might try Town Tavern Country Inn. It's at 673 Macopin Rd in West Milford. I was there about 3-4 years ago, a very good assortment of "American" food. I don't specifically recall the Fried Chicken, good or Bad, but I'm sure it's part of the buffet. I thought they had a website, but if they do, I couldn't find it just now.

Let us know if you come up with anything. I love Fried Chicken, I'm just not in the right state for it. --Ken

Thediningroom.. Are you serious? Send him a gift certificate to a mom and pop place, not KFC.. One taste of KFC will reassure his displeasure for fried chicken.

I live about an hours drive from Frankenmoth, Zenders, Barvarian Inn and I don't think their chicken is any tastier than Golden Coral.

I've never had Zenders.. I hear mixed reviews on that place from my buddies. Seems half of them swear by it, the other half say it's just OK. Guess I'll have to get off my arse and investigate it on my own one day. If your talking about the Dam Site Inn over by Hardy Dam (I believe thats the name of the place) YES! They have some damn fine fried chicken there... I can taste it just thinking about it.. I'm surprised that building is still standing..

Edit: Just looked up the name, and I'm guessing your refering to the Dam Site Inn, located in Hell. http://www.hellmichigan.net/

I havent eaten at Zenders in over 15 years so thats sad to hear. But I will never again go into a Golden Coral. One time was more than enough to leave a lasting scar. Dazed and confused people stuffing there faces in a cross contaminated hell......Russ

I assume you were addressing me, but my name isn't Mike. Thank you for the offer. I wouldn't eat fried chicken on a bet-- and I've had Kentucky Fried Chicken. In fact it was Kentucky Fried Chicken about 30 years ago that reminded me how much I dislike fried chicken.

the best fried chicken i have eaten is at harolds chicken on 74 and halsted in chicago ill. they have alot of harolds in the city but you just cannot go to everyone and expect the same taste.the guy that cooks in this one has been there almost 30yrs.make sure you ask for mild sauce on your order if you ever go.the neighborhood might scare you a little so dont go in the wee hrs of the night also if you see a lightskined older black man(parnell)your chicken is going to be perfect

I've never been a skin eater with chicken and always pull it off, but theres a place called 'Breezy Heights Tavern',just going into Washington PA, that we've eaten at numerous times and everybody raves about their chicken. I usually get other things, but i'll grab a half a chicken the next time out and post a report for anybody who cares.

BTW: I am not a fan of "KFC" ... (I actually detest KFC.)

BUT ... I gotta say, If I have a chance to eat at EZELL'S in Seattle or BOZO's in the outskirts of Memphis, I don't miss it.

I wonder if anyone detests pizza?

The best fried chicken I've ever had was at the Pisgah Inn, a great restaurant with a gorgeous view atop Mt. Pisgah in western North Carolina!
