Anybody ever eaten at 'The Hat' in SoCal?

The orininal Hat opened in Alhambra California in the early '50's. It was bought by a guy named Ronald H. "Corky" Conzonire in the 1980's and he has expanded it to around 10 locations... all family owned no franchises!

This place is great! One of the best Pastrami dip sandwiches you can find, and their burgers are excellent too. Also great is their chili burgers, dogs and fries. I'd say their chili is better than Tommy's, Carney's or Pink's (for those who know SoCal fastfood). And you will very impressed by the cleanliness of these restuarants as well. All are kept squeeky clean.

In addition, Corky Conzonire is this years president of the tournament of roses parade in Pasadena. He's a great guy and runs a great company.

The "Charcoal Broiled" on the sign would get me to pull over for sure.

I've only been to one. Once.

Very memorable. I'm glad to have had the experience.

Ironically, I had my first Katz pastrami yesterday in NYC.

Made me get to wondering what pastrami is and about its variations.

First rate joint. Chili cheese fries the size of your head. Just amazin'. They make poutine too but they don't call it that ("gravy fries").
