THE RIB-O-LATOR

Has anyone bought and/or used the RIB-O-LATOR?

I've heard of them, but I've never seen one in action.

It cooks from underneath and bakes from above.  Wondering if you have to flip the food.  That would be a chore!

Thought they were interesting like all those chickens roasting at Costco.

The racks are an open grate pattern which should allow smoke and heat to flow through evenly so I don't think you need to flip anything, unless you want to.

Yes, it does look like a version of the pits some of the big boys have. Foodbme, you are nearby nominated as guinea pig to try it out!

Yes, it reminds me of those professional Southern Pride jobbies.  Excellent.

Don't know about a Guinea Pig, but Alton Brown did a Nutria (sp?) that oversized swamp rat a year or so ago and found it to taste like.....swamp rat. From his Feasting on Asphalt Part 2 Roadtrip.

I'd have a hard time trusting any gizmo with the name o-lator attached to it.

I would ask: are you having problems with your ribs, so that you need a ribolator? If no, then, "No."
