TSUNAMI - Food? Is there any?

This is a very Sad week for that happened there and my Prayers go out to all those that were lost. I am sure you are all with me on that one! I have read many news articles on the potential for those in need of food and thinking about it more, for those "native" people there there should be options. I heard they are drinking coconut juice which is know to be good but I have also heard that many of the animals, fauna, birds have survived significantly. With that, is there natural food that they can use? I have also heard that many Crocodiles are becoming evident and are prolific. Has anyone heard that their meat is editable? How about the abundance of fish that can be packed in salt and preserved? Fresh water can be boiled and is safe. Granted that most tourists need their Steaks and Lobsters but the native population can survive on what is there and air drops of Cheese noodles are really questionable. I am sure that many of the natives are seeing these as food sources vs. the Red Cross donations. Granted, many homes, hut's, living areas are gone but with a little inovation I think many can survive using common, basic, food knowledge. Maybe an airdrop of recipies would be an alternative here. I have no idea what the native fauna is there but if I were there, this is where I would look for survival. All you need is a fire which, accordig to the weather reports, can be started. God bless them all, again, my prayers go out for them all. Don P.S. France is only giving $168,000 and one of the banks here where my wife works contributed $100,000. Oh well!

Oldfrt.. Last I heard is that the US Goverment sent 30 million dollars in aid (that dont include volunteers, etc).. A local drug company here in West Michigan (Phizer) also sent out 30 million to help. I'm really not all that impressed with our goverment more concerned about a war vs. people in dispair in a disaster. But reading today that aid is finally ariving there, that blocked roads and flooding has either hampered or stopped the supply flow really bums me out.. Seems to me that in a disaster preventative plan that these issues would have been adressed and would have shipped out the equipment needed to clear paths to these victims. Yes, them gators are edible, but water logged wood and matches probably wont help the matter... I hope my prayers, along with everyone elses help these folks survive until help finally arives.
