Don't do that, I thought it was something of grave consequences that I should turn on CNN right away.
FYI would have been nice, but ALERT!

Yeah, like they're not going to re-run this show a million times over the next couple of years.

If it was something of grave consequences, why would I have posted it under BBQ?

They probably will, but considering that there seems to be a lot of interest on this board concerning BBQ, I thought someone would be interested.

Excuse me if this subject offended anyone's sensibilities.

jman: Thanks for reminding us that it will be on. Although I have seen it before, I sorta look forward to seeing it again.

BBQ is a favorite of us Tennessee folks.

No, no. I've seen this done proberly before in other threads. First you apologize to everyone (always for offending) THEN you say this will be your last post. You forgot that part. Or do what I do, post what you want and don't apologize. If you found it interesting someone else will. Now, let that be your last post. I'm done with you.

I haven't been on this board very long, but I have figured out who the sheriffs are, who the Barney Fife's are, and who the Goober/Gomers are.

I'm watching "How It's Made" on Discovery while waiting for "The Apprentice" to come on. They're showing two back-to-back and the next one is going to tell how BACON is made!!!

I also appreciate a "heads up" for telly shows of interest to foodies. Thank you. Last night, the TravelChannel showed back-to-back installments of the "Food Paradise" series, including "Doughnut Paradise" and "Fried Food Paradise." Great fun.

The BBQ on History Channel was very good. Showed off a bunch of grills and wagons, along wth actual BBQ masters. I'm sure it will be on again, for those of you interested in such things.

I'm actually in that show...my grill is the one they show
when the bald headed guy is rubbing mustard on boston butts,
I'm in the background, and then later on in another shot too.

They showed up to film at a comp a couple of years ago.

Now, this rub (as opposed to the mustard or molasses)--this is evidence of Memphis style as opposed to W. Carolina style, right?

molasses sounds good, but it all depends on the rub you use.
Mustard is mainly oil, and after it's cooked for 12 hours in the smoke,
you don't taste it. You don't taste it at all. It's merely an adhesive.

Molasses would likely affect the flavor of the meat more, so you'd have to
make sure your rub worked with it...if you're using a sweet rub, it may be
too sweet, bit if you're using a spicy one, it may work great!

Most important is matching your injection, rub and sauce all work together.

<<the next one is going to tell how BACON is made!!!>.

There's a saying which goes something like: the 2 things you don't want to see how they are made are laws and sausage. I think I will add bacon to that list.
