Does anyone else out there think there's a need for a Roadfood TV show? A show that celebrates what's great about local dining? I've enjoyed the Sterns columns in Gourmet (usually the only thing I read besides the recipes), and have very much enjoyed this forum. I think America is ready for it. What do you think?

I think more people could relate to this type of show than the gourmet cookers. I think the majority of the folks I know are on the go and utilize Roadfood type of restaurants. It will fill a good slot on the Travel channel because every one that travels, eats. Michael and Stephen already have an established audience. Go for it please Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I'd love to see a Roadfood show! Hey, why not have some of us forum lovers as special guests? I'd be glad to take the Sterns on a Roadfood tour of the Philly area's best roadfood stops.

Yes, I do and my husband could do it. He is currently working on another show for the food channel and I always thought that "Two for the Road" would be a great show!

I agree. And I know just the company to shoot the pilot for it, if the Stern's are interested.

What things would be different from the Phantom Gourmet show? Better looking hosts? Less ads? Better name? They always need more content, and the show would be cheap to produce. I would watch.

I think we should start a thread and either ask who has already auditioned, or nominate someone to audition as a representative from roadfood. carl reitz

I nominate Hizzoner The Mayor, but only if he'll agree to host as unclothed in the photo he recently posted. I think the Mayor will need a sidekick, and my immediate choice would be either i-95 or Clot---r. But on more mature reflection I think it should be a someone of the feminine persuasion, and after a tense mental struggle over a least a dozen of our distaff members, I think Redtressed , also unclothed, would be the ideal for a TV food talk (and peep ) show. Cheers, John

I think a roadfood t.v. show would be a great way to spread the gospel of Roadfood. More of us need to leave the chains and expand our life experiences at Roadfood sites and a cable show on Food NNetwork or the Travel Channel would be the ticket.

THIS would would work--Al and Lisa---and film crew--meet up with other roadfooders (like say--Cheesewit or John Fox)to eat local roadworthy foods (like say cheese steaks or hot dogs)--do a full hour show--ie--20 min in Phillie and cheese steaks-10 min with Jane and Michael--- 20 min in Jersey for the dogs Weve got a full season's worth of locations-talant-probably most of the skills too. I know i'd like to take Al and Lisa to JM's Resteraunt in Eufaula Ok for breakfast lunch or dinner---oh heck with with it---we'll doo all three!

Good luck and keep us posted. I had my entry segment all planned out and then found out that I'm not allowed to enter due to one of the rules stipulations. Doh! Why were you ineligible? I tell ya, I'd be fulfilling a lifelong dream if I were selected. I have wanted this my entire life and have worked very hard to try and achieve a goal like this. I can only hope whoever views my tape sees some talent there along with a sincere desire to help people.
