Taco Bell question

Do you like your tacos with olives, or without?

    Congratulations

    I think this thread is the first thread actually created in this forum, rather than being moved here by an admin.

    That said

    1) I haven't eaten at Taco Bell in 10 years or more
    2) When I do eat go out for tacos, I have never been offered the option to add or remove olives
    3) I hate olives, so my actual answer to the question posed is "without"
    4) Why would you only want to know about tacos at Taco Bell, rather than tacos in general?

    I would have to say, neither..ever since i found out that everything but the lettuce and tomatoes are all rehydrated food, and not that palatable..only in desperate situations would i ever run for the border.

    I didn't even know you could *get* olives at Taco Hell...I usually go to Taco John's. But sometimes I put olives (black) on tacos at home.

    I'm pretty sure the Taco Grandes have sour cream and olives.

    But it's a post for the fastfood folks, not the roadfood folks. Of the ones who go to Taco Bell, who gets olives, and who doesn't? Do you ever order off the Big Bell value menu? Did you ever say "FRESCO, please" to replace the cheese and sauce with salsa?

    From the FAQ:

    Q: Are any of the items on your menu pre-made?

    A: No. Our food is topped, layered, loaded, melted, and grilled fresh for you, right when you order it. This means two things. First, you get your food prepared exactly how you want it. And second, it always tastes fresh.

    we only order off the big bell value menu. $.99 or $1.29 makes it worthwhile.

    They may offer olives in PA, but I have never seen them at a Taco Bell in IL, nor are they listed on their website. If they offered them, I am sure I would get them as I like olives, both green and black.

    Value menu = yes (Double Decker Taco)

    Fresco = no (I love cheese, and would really prefer cheese and salsa!)

    My normal meal if I go to Taco Bell is a Baja Gordita, a Double Decker Taco, a Chili Cheese Burrito and a medium Pepsi (for about $5, you can't beat it anywhere).

    The only time I remember getting olives at TB was on the enchirito (RIP).
    I do use black olives when making tacos at home.

    I remember the original Taco Bells, before Pepsi, when they cooked the meat and beans on site. They put hot sauce in little 1 or 2 oz paper cups and handed that to you when you asked for it. A hard shell taco with a decent amount of meat, cheese,lettuce and fresh chopped tomato was 19 cents. A large flour burrito with the above plus freshly made refried beans was 25 cents.

    For years now I pretty much refuse to eat there.

    remember the gas firepit? The bell up in the steeple of their original mission style outlets? Ahhhhh, those days are long past.

    Many of those original Mission-style buildings in my area now house independent taco shops. (Although one houses an AVIS outlet - go figure...)

    Our local one built a new shop across the street, the old one is presently having it's bell tower removed to become a Popeye's. Hadn't been to that old TB in many many years, it had gotten real run down and shabby and the floors were always sticky but it was the only FF place near work them. Many better mom & pop options now.
