Taco Casa, mostly a Texas chain...

For those who don't know me so well... Tacos and Chili are my kinda things. My daughter turned me on to this place. She likes their "light" taco. It's a crunchy taco made w/ a flout tortilla. It's a little over 2 bucks. I liked their regular 99c tacos. They reminded me of TacoHell 30 yrs. ago. Plenty of meat in a crunchy corn tortilla, and stuffed w/ lettuce, and topped w/ cheese. No tomatoes though. Hey, it's 99c. They have lots higher end stuff starting at a bit over 2 bucks. They make everything right in front of you and I like that. It was clean and the service was friendly. It was located inside a gas station. It comes close to our Texas deprived Del taco. It's no Austin Tamale House taco though. Any of my Texas buds here tried it? Joe

Papa, down in Panama City, there's a "Taco Casa" that's located in the Panama City Mall, but I don't think it's linked with the Texas chain; they have "Taco Tuesdays" & "2 Can Dine for $10.99 Thursdays". I may have been there once a long time ago, but nowadays when I'm at the mall, I get a big, fresh platter of Teriyaki chicken with veggies for about $5.50. And I like Wolf Chili also: it was a mainstay of my college days back in the '80s!

None close to me in Plano, but if I see one in my travels I'll try it.

Rm, Wolf is still the chili of choice for most of us Texans. You like Wolf Brand so you will always have a little Texas in your heart. Plb, not sure where all the locations are. Joe

Hey Papa Joe, never heard of this chain. We have Taco Cabana which started in San Antonio, but no Taco Casa.I'll have to look and see if they have a website.

I like Taco Cabana Holly. Casa is a much more basic type place. JOE

Thanks 6star. Joe, the closest ones to me are in Marble Falls and Kerrville. Which would be great for a Sunday drive from San Antonio. We have a pretty good place here in Schertz called El Jalisco, but it's not a chain. They sell gorditas, enchiladas, fajaitas, barbacoa, carne asada, tacos al pastor, etc.

Holly, Casa is not worth a drive. They just have an OK basic fast food taco. Now El Jalisco sounds really good! Barbacoa... Pastor!!! Joe
