Very happy to see that New Pasltz has been seen in the big time again.

I blush to admit that in all the years the Taco shack has been here I've never entered the place. Not that I have anything against it - it's mainly that we eat very little Mexican/southwetern food, and when we do we head for Kingston and Rosita's. Be assured that now we will certainly give the place a try since it was so highly recommended by Ohtara.

And if any of you are going to be at the Rotary Rib Fest next year be sure to send me an E-mail and maybe we could meet up out there. this is the second year and it was much better this year then last, and I think we can look forward to its getting better every year.

BTW: This Sunday, Sept 17 is the annual Taste of New Paltz at the Fair grounds. This event has become a big success - the variety and quality of the food offered is excellent. But, for me, its success is why I'm not planning to attend - the crowds are just too much for me.

Cheers, John

Like Yogi Berra said when someone suggested a restaurant after a home game "No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded".

I know what you mean about crowds...

I went to the Gilroy Garlic festival in CA a few times...

last time was about 5 years ago, and I found it MUCH too crowded........to the point where it was so hard to walk, and get thru, etc...etc it was like you could barely walk a foot ahead of you....

9th ave nyc street fair was like that , too..

IMO, part of the problem is that it was only going on for a weekend. And it got too popular...

that's what is good about state fairs. they usually go on for at least a few weeks, so the crowds are more spread out

Nice review of the Taco Shack. I happen to live about 5 miles from there, and can phone in a takeout order about fifteen minutes before arriving for no wait.

It's not the most authentic mexican food around, but it is quick and simple.

For a better burrito, Mole Mole in Poughkeepsie (both locations) or the Mexicana Groceria in Red Hook are preferred choices, if a bit more expensive.
