I found Taylor's Pork Roll in Atascadero at Spencer's Markets... there is also one located in Morro Bay and probably more in the central coast area.

According to the online Yellow Pages, Atascadero is the furthest north of the Spencer's Markets.

No, it's sort of a sausage in the salami tradition. It's someting you slice and fry, and it's delicious. I think it tastes a lot like Treet, but saltier.

quote:Originally posted by GordonW Tylor Pork Roll is a chopped pork meat product sold in a chub about two or three inches across. Native to New Jersey but loved everywhere. You slice it and fry it. Some people say it tastes like Treet, but well.... http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7120 Ta DA!! I finally found some (wasn't really looking for it, though), in a Publix about 40 miles from my abode. Mighty tasty, I might add, with a couple of egges over easy and some of my salsa grits...
