Our site was one of seven web sites listed as a Yahoo! editor's pick for RSS feeds. If you are a user of Yahoo!, you can add our content to your personalized My Yahoo! page by clicking on the Yahoo! icon next to the latest reviews on the home page.

Oops. For those who clicked on that link already, you might want to try it again. I had a typo in the URL.

Would you mind explaining that to those of us who don't know what that means?

Thank you for being a great webmaster, Stephen.

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like CNN and personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS: the "recent changes" page of a web site, and even the revision history of a book. Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.
For Roadfood.com it is a way for you to be notified when new reviews are posted to the site.

BUT you need an XML/RSS "reader" first ('kinda like a blog, folks).

A good , free one is here:

          http://www.rssreader.com/download/rssreader.exe

Read instructions 1st, though, as only works on certain systems AND must have Microsoft .NET framework installed (also free...).

By using Yahoo! You don't need to install any software. It will do all the reading and formatting for you.

So this content would come at me instead of me going looking for it? Thanks for the explanation. Cooler logic will see the benefit of this. It makes me think uncomfortably of a book in the library flying into my head as I entered the foyer. Gee, all I have to do is go look for it in the shelves.

Now I don't feel like I'm missing out on something. I appreciate all your explanations. This really is the sort of place you don't get flamed for asking what might be a FAQ.
