Thanksgiving 1973

Or thereabouts. Although Thanksgiving has come and gone each year I'm reminded of this because I have not seen it done anywhere else since and it was quite unique. My 1st wife and had just moved to Denver and had no family there so we were looking for a place to eat out for Thanksgiving. There were dozens of advertisements in the Denver Post for Thanksgiving meals but one stood out. There was a restaurant called I believe the "Ambassador" (could be wrong) That was offering individual turkeys with all the trimmings to each party. They had several sizes available based on the number in your party. This was a pretty fancy restaurant as I recall. We made reservations and I seem to remember 3 or 4 seating times available as opposed to naming your own time.
As a party of two we were served around an 8lb Turkey which was brought complete to the table. You were offered the option to carve it yourself or they would do it for you. All the sides I believe were served family style in bowls. We observed several other larger parties with larger turkeys. When you were done they would box up the leftovers to take home.
A unique idea for sure.

ces1948, I think that is a fantastic concept.  Sorta gives you that down home feeling, and no dishes to do.
