You gotta believe every defensive player in the NFL wants to be the one who can say, "I delivered the hit that retired Bret Farve, permanently"

I find this to be a bit incredulous too. Would a player want to be tagged that way and be remembered more for that than his achievements like Jack Tatum recently was in his obits for putting the hit on Darryl Stingley?

A dirty hit, no! A good clean tackle, sure!

I never implied it was a dirty hit. Dirty or clean, no player would want to carry that legacy and say what you said. That is if they are smart enough to understand the consequences of like what happened to Jack Tatum.

Just for the record, I did not wish headaches upon Percy Harvin.

I don't know if you ever played football, but I have. Two State Championship Teams in H.S & played 4 years in College. As a defensive player, there's no greater satisfaction than getting a good. solid, CLEAN hit on a Q back. Not necessarily to knock him out of the game or cause permanent injury, but that's part of the game. I ended up with a dislocated shoulder, bad back and bad knees, but I wouldn't trade the experience of playing the game for anything.

The greatest player to have ever played the game, next to Brett Favre that is.

I started out in the era of no face masks and the first helmet I wore was a leather helmet. That was the Indianapolis Rhodius Park Police Athletic League. They threw all the equipment out on a gym floor. The 8th graders had first pick on down the line to 4th graders. There usually wasn't much left over at the end.
