The Contingent Could Have A Private Party At Burt's Place!

Normally, there are 8 pieces per pizza.  I will have Burt send them out uncut so when I serve them, if I need to cut smaller pieces to accommodate every one who wants to try a particular variety they will at least get a slice, albeit smaller than normal.
 
Also, I will have a full list of available combinations on each table.  You'll have time to peruse the list and prioritize which pies you want to try and in which order.
 
Bear in mind that the oven will not hold all nine (including MFL's) pizzas at one time.  Burt will probably need to cook six to start and then send the other three out about twenty minutes later.  I'll try to make sure that everyone gets at least one piece of their choice on the first round.  The upside to this is that when you're ready for your second (or third) piece, it will be fresh and hot out of the oven.

As ridiculous as it might be to make a pizza like that, it would take care of feeding a crowd with wildly divergent tastes.
 
On a serious note, living4funwi will not be joining us tomorrow.  Her Dad may be facing emergency surgery (cause unknown at this time), so we will be one less for sure. Of course, the important thing is that we all send l4fw and her Father best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
 
Any other cancellations out there?  Please let us know ASAP.  We may want to adjust the number of pizzas I've ordered.  On less person will not significantly affect the per head price, but if others can't make it we'd like to know.

Where you at folks?  A world of Roadfooders anxiously awaits words and pictures from our pizza bash.  It ain't comin' from me; I just served the stuff, I didn't eat a bite.

Speaking for myself, words aren't coming easy as I'm still in a food coma.
I've never had a deep dish that I've so thoroughly enjoyed. The crust was so light, that was completely unexpected. The sausage tasted of garlic and black pepper but the sauce, oh the sauce, was just fantastic and stole the show. I took no pictures so someone else needs to supply the visual. As always, seeing good friends including Carolina Bob was  a treat.

Everything was wonderful. Buddy was a great host and server, and we all had a great time. The pizza was excellent. I ate way more than I should have.

If you want to allow non-friends and general public to view your photo album on Facebook you have to make sure you click on a checkbox to allow the public to view. Otherwise only your friends can view. You can do that with each individual album you create. So you can keep some private for friends only.

Buddy, thanks from J and me for organizing this event as well as for your great patience in handling ingredient orders! It was great to see so many RFers in attendance, and we enjoyed Burt's a lot--what a gem. Heck, even that waiter guy was okay. 
 
J and I were pleasantly surprised by the pizza. We had had deep-dish style before, but it's always been more of a casserole, with lots of soupy sauce and soaked, mushy crust. The version at Burt's is more elegant, and reminds me of Old World focaccia: a slightly airy and slightly dense aromatic crust with a bit of chew to it. The amount of toppings was just right and didn't overwhelm the crust--we particularly loved the large chunks of sausage, the earthy shrooms, and that intense garlic. A thing of beauty!

On our last visit to Burt's, we ordewred 4 X/L for 4 people to ensure leftovers for days to come! 
 
The only thing as good as burt's for dinner....is Burt's for breakfast!

Based on my PM responses, Saturday September 17 appears to work best as the date for the new Eat & Greet.  We are looking to have a private party like was done last year with a noon start.  This requires at least 20 to attend.
