Along with The Bayou there's also Liliana's on S. Fish Hatchery Rd. and New Orleans Takeout, which has locations on the near east and west sides.

Wow. Looks like we need to plan a second MadCity tour. This time on a Saturday to catch some of these places that will be closed on our first tour!

At least one Roadhouse will be there.  Mrs. R may still be working on a certain wedding dress and unable to attend.  I'm already putting the pressure on her to take a break and attend.  I'm pretty sure she'll cave.

Kathy doesn't know yet if she's scheduled to work but I'll be in attendance for at least part of the day, possibly the beginning and end but maybe missing out on some State Street visits.

There will be five in the JRPfeff/PieDiva group.  And perhaps five (maybe more) in the Madison A to Z group.

A couple thoughts. 

We may have 2 dozen or more in The Contingent this Sunday.  I think we will need to split into smaller pods on State Street, since most restaurants cannot handle a group that size.  I'd like to hear some ideas on how we will handle this.  I suspect that we can self select where to go to keep the group sizes manageable.  I'll hand out restaurant lists on Sunday.

I think I'll give a heads up to Fat Jack's on the size of group that will be barging in on Sunday evening so we don't overwhelm them.  By that time, many of us will be splitting entrees.  I'll see if they can do a family style meal for us if there is an interest.

I plan on going....

With possibly 24+ people on board, are we still going to do a scavenger hunt? Or several? 

Perhaps two or three groups can form--one doing a scavenger hunt, one going to sit-down places, and another doing a combo of the two.

Or one group can do a combo of American and ethnic fare, while another does all ethnic....?

If we decide (or if a subgroup decides) to opt for more conventional formats,we could look into a restaurant on State that might be able to accommodate a large group or two large groups. But I don't know what places there would qualify....

Maybe there's a place on State Street with a lot of seating and with a Sunday buffet....?

Sounds like The Contingent could well become a Flash Mob!

That said, our involvement may be considerably more modest with us possibly missing the first and last stops of the day. I'll let you know for sure when the itinerary is in a more final stage.
I agree that 25 diners in one group does not seem doable.
I can't wait to drive Brad's Cat 10 stories up in the air.

Just a thought here, it may be hokey, okay it is hokey, but what do you guys think of wearing name tags with both our roadfood ID and real name? There will be so many of us, and I'll be meeting most of you for the first time (and I have a terrible memory) and want to remember everyone.

I suppose some people could feel self-conscious walking around in public with name tags on. No biggie, just throwing it out there.

Not a bad idea, as I also have a pretty bad memory for names. I don't have a problem with nametags; last fall I spent a weekend wandering around Buffalo and Rochester with one on.

Yep. I get lost easily.

I have no problem with nametags.
In fact I LIKE nametags, because unitl I meet someone at least two or three times or spend the better part of a day or so with them, I also am name -impaired....
another vote for Nametags....

I like the idea of a name tag--being new to this.  The lad one I wore consisted of gray duct tape & black magic marker!  Don't laugh too hard, it worked !

I hate name tags, but I'll wear one to appease the group.  Just put me down for "Attila the Hun".

And don't forget the smiley face.

P.S. Not to overstate the bloody obvious, but holy crap, this thing is happening this Sunday!  We've been talking about it for so long I kept thinking about it as if it was always in the future, never quite sure when it would come around.  Kinda like "Waiting For Godot" for Roadfooders.
