The Farmhouse is an old fashioned Breakfast - Lunch place located 228 N. Gilbert Rd in the "Old Town" section of Gilbert. It's in a strip of buildings that was the original downtown section of Gilbert when it was just a small farming community. The exposed walls are Adobe Brick! Open 7 days a week. Mon-Sat 6AM to 2PM. Sun-8AM-2PM. The food is down home cookin'. They have daily specials for both Breakfast & Lunch. Today, I had a 3 egg omelet stuffed with Mexican style pulled pork and green chilies. The sauce from the slow roasted pork was delicious with just the right amount of tang.. Served with homefries and a tortilla. The regular menu has 24 different omelets available. Other breakfasts include egg dishes, pancakes, french toast, waffles and their signature Farmhouse Cinnamon Roll and made from scratch Biscuits. Chipped Beef or Sausage Gravy is available for the biscuits. Breakfast is my favorite but the lunches are outstanding as well. Their signature sandwich is the 1/2 pound made-from-scratch meatloaf served hot or cold on a french bread roll. The burgers are 7 oz. AND you can get them with Green Chiles! They also feature home made chili & 7 different salads. Regular Daily Lunch Specials served Mon-Fri include Chicken & Biscuits, Chicken Pot Pie, Iron Skillet Fried Chicken, Chicken Enchiladas and Roasted Chicken as well as other specials. Beer, Wine and Champagne cocktails are also available. There's a Cake of the Day and a Cobbler of the Day for dessert. Home cookin' in a farmhouse kitchen atmosphere. http://www.farmhouseofgilbert.com/Home.html http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/22/261600/restaurant/Phoenix/The-Farmhouse-Gilbert

Bonk Wasn't that place featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? I don't think so. I'll ask them next time I'm in there. However, it should be! The only 2 breakfast places I'm aware of in the Phoenix area that have been on DDD are Matt's Big Breakfast and Over Easy. EDIT: Ooops! forgot one other place and this may be the one you're thinking of. It's Joe's Farm Grill. http://joesfarmgrill.com/ Joe's Farm Grill WAS on DDD. It's owned by the same company that owns Joe's Real BBQ, http://www.joesrealbbq.com/which is right across the street from The Farmhouse Restaurant!

He did three in Glendale that we tried while we were out for Spring Training this year, and we loved them all. Haus Murphy and La Piazza al Forno are right next to each other, and Thee Pits Again is just south of the loop.

Farmhouse is good. So are all of the Joe Johnston places. Gilbert is soooo different from when I grew up in the area.
