Yaktrax-HAH- I love it!  Yaktrax are the best, but I sure hope we won't need 'em that weekend.

The long range forecast, FWIW, shows temps hovering around 60 degrees, mostly sunny with the possibility of a thunder shower on one of the days of the tour.  Of course, the way things work around here, it could actually be 80 degrees one day and record high snowfall the next (actually happened quite a few years ago.  But not in May).

Not the nicest spring we've had around here, but very manageable.  Dressing in layers with a light jacket seems like the order of the day.

Buddy, What time would you be looking at for Sunday?

BTW, If MH is wearing shorts, I may cancel. :)

joe,
A pre-opening private party at Burt's could start more or less anytime we wanted it to.  I don't know that anyone wants to eat Chicago Style Pan Pizza earlier than 11am, but I could be wrong.  My initial thought was to hold it from noon to 3pm (obviously, anyone who needs to leave early could do so), but if everyone wants/needs an earlier start time, I'd ask if it could be arranged.

As for MH wearing shorts, I don't think the weather will be ideal for that.  However, given his years as an experienced outdoors-man, braving the rigors of extreme temperatures, I believe he'd wear shorts in sub-zero temps just to spite anyone who asked him not to.  If he does wear shorts, just avert your eyes to his immediate left or right and ogle his much better looking better half.

Buddy,

I've got a flight to catch from Milwaukee, so earlier on Sunday would be best for my plans.

As long as you're wearing them all at once, I've got no problem with that.

If you're implying the prospect of Michael Hoffman squeezed into a dozen Speedos was enough to bring the wrath of God down upon us, you'll need to look elsewhere for apocalyptic activity.  It was a 2.9 rumbler that wasn't even noticed until some so-called scientists told us it had occurred.

You are severely wrong, sir.  Any time of day is perfect for pizza.  However, I may be departing fairly early Sunday in order to have a burger at Chick N Dip on my way home so regardless of the time I might not be able to attend.

Are the overnighters congregating at one particular hotel or is everyone kind of spread out?  Since I'm planning on staying Saturday only it'd be nice to be able to park my car and catch a ride if possible, and then check in later.

Early indications show most of the overnighters are fairly spread out.  There doesn't seem to be any one hotel where you'll find a group of Roadfooders, although some may be congregated in one geographic area.

As far as ride sharing goes, I've been trying to meet up with the owner of our proposed first stop to ask if we can leave a bunch of cars in his parking lot, allowing us to carpool after our visit there.

Yup.  Well, not you.  It was oddly zeroed in on a couple of northwest suburbs of Chicago and almost nowhere else.  Really.
