...
On another note,  McD's ice cream sundae is the best deal in town.

ya know, I used to say the same thing. The cone and sundae were the best deals. But, I had a cone recently (and it had been quite a bit of time since my last cone at McD's) the (vanilla) ice cream was bad. It hadn't gone bad, the quality was very low.  It had a chemical taste to it, which I can only imagine was the sweeteners and chemical fillers. It simply was not the same ice cream as even five years ago. And, I don't think this is a location issue. I think the ice cream quality has been drastically lowered.

I guess as a flurry, sundae, or shake, where the ice cream is enhanced with other stuff, the lower quality ice cream wouldn't stick out as bad; but as a cone - wow, what a difference.

Still, though, their desserts are relatively cheap. Why pay more for a flurry elsewhere?

That does explain it.  Learned something today.  I never thought of bread (especially from refined white flour) having any significant protein content - just carbs, sugars & some fat.

I had a "McDouble" without cheese (can't stand their icky plasticy "cheese") the other night, and I found it . . . like a hamburger without enough goo to stick it together. I imagine the plasticy cheese sticks it together, but without it, it's just a couple slabs of meat in there. I'd rather have two burgers, frankly.

However, my daughter loves the double cheeseburger Happy Meal. She likes the cheese. No accounting for taste, I suppose.

Kids today are fooled into thinking what Mc D's sells is the real thing....sad......take them to a roadfood joint, as a steady diet, and teach them what a burger and fries CAN be!

Oh, they know good burgers. As I posted on the hamburger forum, my daughter's favorite restaurant is Beef 'n Buns 'n Paradise.

But McDonalds is three minutes from the house and comes with a toy.

About the bad tasting ice cream.

            All McD's aren't the same.

I take my mother once a week for her "Dollar Sundae".

Most often the ice cream is white, creamy and rich but once in awhile when we stop at a different McD's the ice cream has a yellowish color and tastes watered down.

We never go back to those locations because we believe that they add water to the mix.  McD's is supposed to be standardized!

the big macs are rip offs...for that price u should be getting two 4 ounce patties.  1.5 ounces?  a joke.  u can't even taste any meat.

McDonald's is about to cheat again. The company is retiring it's double cheeseburger and replacing it with something called a McDouble. It's virtually the same sandwich, except instead of two slices of cheese it will have just one. But, as the cost decreases by six cents for McDonald's, the price will increase for McDonald's customers.

                http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/10/30/mcdonalds-makes-plans-for-the-mcdouble/?icid=100214839x1212162395x1200794335

Not really a problem for me...I think I'd pay more to eat less of McDonald's cheese anyway...that stuff is like saltwax, if there is such a thing..

I think that the closest you could get to it would be to add Special Sauce and lettuce to a Double Quarter-pounder with Cheese and leave out the ketchup and mustard.

I saw that the other day, and asked what it was.... Told it was double meat, one slice of cheese..
Works for me, as I rarely do cheese on meat, but sometimes just get a hankering for a greasy Mickey D's double cheeseburger every so often........
Tasted the same to me.. eh.....

I can't go into a McDonalds, eat and get out the door before I start passing gas so I just stay away from that fine place. It happens every time and one day the light bulb came on and I conected the two. Sorry if that was to much info.

heck, I've never been guilty of that!! (LOL)

Ironically, I just had one of those McDoubles the other day, while waiting for my buffalo wings to be fried at the "wings to go" place...
like some of the other posters have said, it's got that good old fashioned McDonald's taste..

I also agree with the poster that said the Big Mac patties are much too small to taste!!   I like the "mac daddy" burger I had at the Blitzburger in North Brunswick..... now THAT'S a good big mac style burger!!!!

I've ordered the new McDouble twice now at two different locations...and got a double cheeseburger each time.  I stuck it to the man!!!

At some point I'll get one with only one piece of cheese...
