The McJeff: Bow down to a Sammich that's greater than you

Roadfood, I made it to Moo & Oink here in Chicago over on da southside earlier today for BBQ supplies b/c I know what it holds as the 4th nears. They were just setting up the tents outside for the 4th of July grilling season rush and it was starting to get crazy in there. Today they had some pretty good deals on BBQ sauce, drinks, baby backs. The signature beef hot link packages were on sale for $6.99. Ever since my buddy concocted these hot link sandwiches aka McJeff's one summer night-they have been a signature item at the annual 4th party. You can use both beef or pork but I really prefer the beef. This is one All-American sammich. So easy yet so good and a real taste of Chicago.

Is a Sammich anything like a sandwich, 'cause that's what that looks like?

I sell a burger with a split Louisiana Hot link on top, very popular!

There's a bar in Playa del Rey, CA called "The Shack" that sells a combo burger with a grilled knackwurst on top.  Fabulous!

 A sammich is a variation on a sandwich.  To make this variation, one must use bread taken with four or more fingers intead of three or less.  Plus, this variation requires the moon to be in a certain phase while Mars is in conjunction with another planet, but not Pluto.  If Mars is in conjunction with Pluto, then there must be a bird chirping someplace in a one hundred yard perimeter of the creation of said food.

A good friend of mine started The Shack when I lived in Playa del Rey about a million years ago, then he split a Farmer Johns hot link, not a brat, grilled it put it on his cheeseburger, sold thousands of them, I stole the idea from him, folks from all over LA made a pilgrimage there. Lord I spent thousands of hours at the Shack, after hours, drinking and rolling the bones [playing dominos], I didn't have a care in the world, young, single, living on the beach in So Cal., seems like another lifetime
