I had a McRib sandwich many years ago. My first shall remain my last.

sgtboots Go ahead, make fun of me. I love those things. "McRib, no pickles or onions, please". I'm with you Boots. Just think of it as a flat sausage with BBQ sauce. I wish they'd bring back McBrats too!

I somehow remember the McRib of my teenage years being much more flavorfull and satisfying than the ones I have tried in recent years. About the second time the McRib came around I recall that there was a packet of special hot sauce available. Is there anybody else that got hooked on the earlier product like I did? Regards Ray

I had one of these a long time ago.... Listen up McDonalds... Just take a few pans full of boneless country style ribs, slow roast/smoke them for several hours and shake on some real american sauce or dry spices, stuff it in a great roll and sell it for a real sandwich experience. (forget about all that sugary sauce that makes people crave anything dead on bread!) Why you got to ruin everything? It doesn't a real chef that long to figure out that it would be a hit! Just think of all the money you could save on all those testers, chemical chefs, gas, etc. All you really need to do is keep it real. Tim.

Regards Ray I am a once and done concerning the McRib; not my cup of tea. But I whole hardly agree McDonalds does introduce a good product, then lessen it's quality trying to drive profits. Anyone that remembers McDonalds when they had no indoor seating, Speedy, they did not open until 11am and their sign read millions, not billions, will attest their hamburgers once were made from real beef and their milk shakes required ice cream, milk and mixing.

I have always wondered why "McRib is back!" so this answers my question somewhat - I assumed it took time for them to amass the goo they needed for the McRib. I live in the midwest and McRib has been here every time it "is back!" but I've never tried one. My area has tested out the Mc Pizza and the McDinner, a sit down restaurant where you ordered from a jukebox-like thing o the table. I did not try any of these things, but I do occasionally appreciate a sausage McMuffin!

I ate one a couple of years back...the only thing I liked was the pickle. I don't know if it was the McRib, but our high school (I am an asst. principal) serves "rib patty" sandwiches weekly. Much to my dismay, the kids love them. I know they are hungry, but come on... I'd much rather slap some cheap bbq sauce on a sandwich w/ham or roast beef. At least I'd know what my "meat" was. cy

McRib is on par with school cafeteria food. It makes me think of road-killed teddy bear on a bun.

badbyron722 Loved them back in my pot smoking days. Perhaps this is the marketing message that McD's has been looking for?

Well this is a little embarrassing, my first ever Roadfood post and it’s in defense of the McRib sandwich… We had McRib in Connecticut about 20 years ago – shaped pork burger with bbq sauce, sweet pickles, and raw onions. It tasted GOOD. Yes, it is junk – about as close to a real BBQ pork sandwich as a McNugget is to real fried chicken – but if I was eating at Mickey D’s, McRib was what I ordered. I hope it is successful in Columbus and makes a comeback nationwide. p.s. A few Subway’s offer a similar product – and you can get it with BACON!

My only choice at McD is an egg McMuffin - if no White Castle is around to get one of their breakfast sandwiches.  I do not remember the last time this was the case though.

Tony Bad This guy is a fan. McRib is just like this thread, it won't DIE! Now I know as a fact, Angus McRib has met its maker(No not Ray Kroc).

Tony Bad joerogo If I never see another McRib, it will be too soon. I am not a fan at all. But it seems like Ole' McRib just won't die. I don't know Joe...I have heard rumors that say otherwise. That you are a closet McRib aficionado and that your alleged "work related" travels are just a cover for your McRib seeking activities. Do you deny this? Not true. I am to McRib, what Van Helsing is to Dracula

So what sort of stake do you need to drive through the heart of McRib? I cringe at the thought.

I have been reading the posts in this thread. Not only are you people harsh, but putting down the McRib and White Castle is down right un-American! You people must not be from the Mid-West, where Red Lobster is gourmet seafood.
