Ok, no one has even acknowledged my idea for the McRib Shake. Not actually a shake cause it must be blended in a blender. I think a homemade vanilla would be best but some in my family think maybe chocolate would be better? Hey... have it your way I always said. But, someone stole that saying but ... that's another story! Anyway... Chocolate or Vinilla??? for a McRib Shake??????? Ok, Ok, have it your way then!!!!! Joe

Seriously speaking, a sprinkle of celery salt adds a nice touch to a McRib.

Lolol Mellow! Hey, a bit of Celery seasoning might liven up almost any dish! My Celery Salt has a prominent place amongst my spices. It's right next to the Clery Seed and Old Bay. Oh, add some Sport Peppers and it could be a Chicago Style McRib! I would be kinda surprised if the Chicago MD's didn't offer Celery Salt. But... if not you could always sneak your own shaker in. Joe

Joe I'm pretty sure each McRib starts out as a shake-like substance...all ground up and gooey before it gets injected into the rib-like mold...Maybe McDonalds could sell it by the bag for home use.

A frozen product exactly like the McRib is sold in the frozen section of our local Stop & Shop...six pressed pork like patties in the shape of a set of ribs.....about $3.99...Add your own sauce and bun....but six for $3.99!!!!

Michael Hoffman I am, as I type this, eating my very first McRib. I like it! It is a sandwich and I appreciate your report. Quite frankly, I enjoyed it also. I think some folks get worked up just because it is McDonalds. A sandwich is a sandwich. It amazes me that foolks get so worked up when they probably eat balogna and other weird sandwiches. I have yet to get one this season but I will very soon. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I guess I have never gotten overly excited about the McRib sandwich because here in the Cincinnati area JTM makes the same riblet patty and sells them every day in the grocery stores, fry or grill your own and use your own sauce too

I finally tried one today and it wasnt horrible. I'm not sure i'd order it again (i'm a sucker for Big Macs if I eat at McD's), but i wouldnt turn one down. Honestly, it reminded me of a piece of school cafeteria salisbury steak with BBQ sauce on it. The onions were fresh and good and the pickles were a nice addition. Like I said, it wasnt bad, but I wouldnt go crazy trying to ever find one again.

True, but sausage has the good taste to not mimic some other food substances...Sausage is true to its origins.....but then sausage does not have a marketing department or a catchy jingle.

This may explain the mystique of the McRib. Personally, I consider it a pretty good sandwich. I recoginize that it a processed pork. So is balogna, hot dogs and numerous other meats that we consume and enjoy. McRib is nothing more than that except with the sweet sauce, pickles, onions and processed pork, it taste pretty good. I have only had one this go around and I found it pretty tasty. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2010-11-27-mcib_N.htm Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Don't know if they're doing it everywhere, but around here if you buy a McRib meal, you get a second McRib for a buck.

First off, the McRib is coming back throughout the chain, not just Columbus. Mr. Hoffman's closed mind on the subject reinforces my opinion of the Ohio State University. A McRib is as good a reason as any to get drunk and/or stoned.

A McRib is as good a reason as any to get drunk and/or stoned. Apparently you've already achieved a mental state in which fact turns to fiction. I liked the damned thing, and Ohio State University had nothing to do with it. So much for my "closed mind on the subject." Additionally, you might wish to go back and look at ScreamingChicken's post, which states rather clearly, "It's back, through November 14 at all U.S. locations."
