The McRib Makes Its Return - Tue, 10/27/09 10:32 AM ( #1 )
The McRib is coming back to the Columbus area on Nov. 2. Never having had one I do not know if this is a good thing, and I have no intention of attempting to find out first hand.

Nope. I never eat products pushed by the Boneless Pig Farmers Association of America, and I don't eat sandwiches that have pickles on them.

I have eaten a McRib. I was drinking heavily at the time and had lost my direction in life.

That was long ago and with God's grace I will never eat a McRib again.

If I never see another McRib, it will be too soon.  I am not a fan at all.  But it seems like Ole' McRib just won't die.

The McRib, along with White Castle hamburgers and Little Caesar's pizza, is a food never meant to be consumed sober.

But it seems like Ole' McRib just won't die.

That got me thinking that this thread should be incorporated into another current discussion...

I don't know Joe...I have heard rumors that say otherwise. That you are a closet McRib aficionado and that your alleged "work related" travels are just a cover for your McRib seeking activities. Do you deny this?

I would have fewer issues with the McRib if were simply called, the McPork.  Throwing "Rib" out there, I have certain expectations of flavor to be achieved.  At which, it fails miserably.  Were it simply the McPork, it passes at that.  Allbeit, a cheap poorly executed one.

This is the case of a sandwich that wasn't terrible when it first came out. It was different, so it was popular. Now they roll it out every so often, even though it's become some pressed pork product shaped like ribs.

Personally, I'd rather they bring back the Shamrock Shake each St. Patrick's Day. I haven't seen that in at least 5 years.

MH,

The last time I checked this was the Fast Food Franchises & Non-Roadfood Chains Section. I suppose it's possible I might be wrong, but the last time I checked I believe McDOnald's qualified as a fast food restaurant, a franchise operation and as non-roadfood chain.

In any event, you are certainly welcome.

I'm not sure who the "you" is that you're referring to, but it certainly isn't "I" as "I" can't remember the last time I walked into a Mc Donalds other than to use their restroom or get a soda.

Unfortunately, the Seniors coffee is a regular size one. I always get a large to go. Granted, I could get two Seniors for less than the price of one large, but I prefer the convenience of just one cup.

I'm with you there, WJ.  I haven't purchased a food item at a McDonalds since the early 90's.  BUT- for a cup of coffee on the run, McDonalds beats any national coffee chain or deli.  It is surprisingly excellent and consistant.
