The Poll -- Turkey Sandwiches

Post-Holiday Turkey Sandwich: What Must Be There? Needs a category allowing for more. Mine always had to have turkey, stuffing and a slice of jellied cranberry sauce on white bread with mayonnaise and black pepper.

That answered the mayonnaise or Miracle Whip question. Not crazy about turkey but love the after Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. Go figure. Mayonnaise, a thinnish slab of jellied cranberries and those dark sweet pickles with a little bite to them all on white bread.

I remember Durkee's dressing ... kind of a seasoned mayo. Of course, NEVER Miracle Whip.

For a cold sandwich, just mayo( my cousin brought me some Duke's from N.C.) turkey, salt and pepper on squishy white bread. Hot open faced-bread, turkey ,stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce.

What about Hot Browns? In my opinion, the best possible use for post-Thanksgiving turkey, and a sandwich (of sorts).

In a sandwich form, just mayo and a little salt otherwise turkey slices on a plate covered with gravy.

While I love Durkee Famous Sauce, and always have a bottle in the refrigerator, it doesn't go on my leftover turkey sandwiches. But it's really good on Boar's Head Cajun-style turkey slices on rye.

Sorry all, I love Miracle Whip on my Turkey sammie. Mayo just does not do it for me. I voted Mayo but I didn't see a category for Miracle Whip. So, for me it's turkey, Miracle Whip, dressing, cranberry sauce and s&p. David O.

Make mine with fried butter crusted beefsteak rye, add stuffing, dark meat turkey, a sprinkling of Old Bay to taste, miracle whip and some sweet gherkin slices.

Mine always had to have turkey, stuffing and a slice of jellied cranberry sauce on white bread with mayonnaise and black pepper. That's it, except on sourdough! And the cranberry sauce and mayo must be put on next to each other so they mix together.

Bakery roll, hollowed out so it's pretty much just crust. Fill one side with warmed cornbread stuffing, cover with thin turkey slices. A thin spread of cream cheese or Alouette on top, then generously covered with cranberry sauce. I almost look forward to that more than the meal that created it.

White breaded toasted w/ Mayo, sliced (not chunk) white meat and a touch of salt on the meat, if it's not from a pre-basted saline-injected bird. A side of Cranberry Sauce to do a little dip now and then would be a nice touch.

There are at least 2 categories missing from the poll question: 1. Dressing 2. All of the above I like my sandwich to include dressing and everything else listed!

Cream cheese and strawberry preserves on toast make one of the most popular turkey sandwiches that you'll find in most restaurants around Miami. That's a classic combination.

I used to go to Spring Lake NJ for Thanksgiving to visit with my best friend in college. His mom always sent us home with the best turkey sandwiches which were white bread, turkey, some gravy and pepper/salt. fond memories.

I hope your Thanksgiving Day is a warm and wonderful one for you and your family. I just got back from a very, very wet morning of pheasant hunting. My Waffle House patty melt will come sometime this afternoon.

Actually, my favorite after turkey thing is to grab a cold turkey leg about four hours later, liberally salt and pepper, and eat it as is. Can't wait for that!!!

Geez, Annie, I recall as a kid being in the crew of kids hoping that I would get one of the two legs...there were 4 or 5 of us in the 'kid table group'. I mention it, because I am surprised at how my tastes have changed. I pass on the Drumstick now...In fact I don't order one when I see them at the Fair or other outdoor events. No Real reason...just changing tastes, I guess. Give me the sliced white meat and Mayo on White Toast, Please!
