Was there a couple of summers ago for a group event. I'm from Ohio, so I can't really be trusted to judge BBQ, but it was quite good. Had ribs and brisket, and once full they brought out the sausage. If i'm remembering right it was all good, and quite spicy. Place looks like it was built with stuff that was found in the local junkyard. Adjacent to a campground, and the atmosphere is totally Roadfood.

Also in the area, Petit Bois for good Po Boys and fried seafood baskets. Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi is touristy but historical. The stuffed lobster was the size of a football.

I have been to The Shed, and I must say it was one of the most wonderful barbecue experiences I've had. I am from Maryland, but visit family in the Richmond area often and thus know good barbecue (like King's and Cowlings'). The Shed has an excellent, full-flavored pork that barely needs sauce because of its deep smoky flavor. Moreover, it's not just the barbecue that makes this place special--the experience of eating at a place that, were it not for the brightly lit gas station across the street, is as close to an off-the-beaten-path ol' barbecue shack as you can get. My only concern is that the sweet tea wasn't anything spectacular.

If in the Ocean Springs area, I encourage you to visit The Shed. You won't regret it.

I went to The Shed last year and was thoroughly unimpressed. Little smoke flavor (little flavor of any kind, actually), lack-luster menu. My memory is that a couple of college kids started it and based the recipes on their memory of BBQ they ate in college. I'm prejudiced, I admit: Lived in West Tennessee most of my life, where they really do know BBQ, now in Louisiana where they try hard and sometimes approach success.
