I'll also recommend HOLY SMOKE. It's really a nice read. I haven't purchased it yet, but I do sit and read parts every time I go to Barnes & Noble. The two books by Jim Garner are good as well as the one by Jim Early...he's a "character". Had him come in my restaurant a couple of times (not bbq) and got a book from him. As I recall he got the name of my uncle wrong when he wrote about Lancaster's BBQ in Mooresville, NC. The correct spelling, for the record, is Tommy Lancaster (aka. Big Daddy...yes the same as in Big Daddy's restaurant also in Mooresville).
