The most popular food in the Country?

I say it is our old favorite, Bacon!!! I realize a zillion burgers are sold, and dogs also, but I believe bacon is actually more beloved by all, this leads me to wonder why more places, including mine, don't sell it as an appetizer. Some folks will say "clogged arteries, but frankly most people don't give a flip about that, a place could cook it rubbery or crisp or somewhere in between, say .75 cents a slice, or maybe a buck, thats it nothing else, an order of bacon to go. 10 crispy slices, $10.00, I'm good with that, what say ye? PS. Yes I know about the place in Texas that deep fries it and sell a scad of it, just wondering why more places don't, including me, whic I may well do! You in Mr. Hoffman?

Davy your honey glazed porno bacon rates XXX. I doubt the most popular is bacon CTF----- It is good, but man can not live by bacon alone--- I vote for the incredible, edible egg. They do well on their own, or with bacon, ham, sausage or home fries In a sandwich, over light, boiled, hard boiled. At a diner, a bar, or a ladies social. In a fancy cake, or in a spanish omelet. And they are cheap. The chicken doesn't make a dime profit on a dozen. Buy a chicken and have eggs benedict every morning. Or in your nog, or colored and rolling down the White House Lawn. Ah yes, Sir Chewy, one chicken produces a zillion eggs, and when she doesn't produce you wring her good for nothing neck and make a nice bowl soup and you'll feel good in the morning. Never mind Chewy's cold remedy -- U listen to the mariner---a nice bowl chicken soup is better than medicare.

My Cold Remedy not only will clear your sinuses, it will take care of the person sitting next to you...some people who taste it, suddenly jump up, make a squaking noise and run around the place flapping their arms...it's a kick to watch!

Chewer, bacon smoked at your place sounds like a great idea! Appetizer, side dish, main dish, whatever... sounds good to me! There is much speculation as to why Chicken Soup has been proven to help fight off a cold. Some say the Dinosaurs, after 160 million years, had gotten past having a problem w/ viruses, and that newcomers like us must lean over time. Till then, like our distant ancestors may have done, we can eat chicken, who some say are just feathered dinosaurs. Soo, what does bacon cure? The food blaas I think! Joe

A bacon story ---bringing home the bacon. During the wonderful Victorian Age in England people seldom had meat. So when a breadwinner hit it good he would buy a slab of bacon. It would hang in the kitchen and be a sign to all who visited that that family was in the chips. For that week anyhow !!!!! Bring home the bacon, Lad, and we can show off.

Foodbme Davydd, Do you bake the crust before adding the eggs, etc? Preparation directions please! It is served at the Coho Cafe & Bakery in Tofte, MN (North Shore Bluefin Bay restaurant). I'm guessing the crust is prepared ahead of time and then topped with fresh cooked ingredients.
