Theedge does......Ribeye Sandwich

I had a 4.5 lbd Ribeye in the fridge, but never go around to making a full dinner this weekend. I ended up sticking it in the smoker at 250 for 4 hours until it reached 125. All I had on it was a bit of salt and pepper and a very small junk of wood for smoke. Turned out pretty darn good and will provide some lunch time sandwichs this week.

125? You must like it really rare. I cook mine to 145 for medium though. I love to do a rib roast the same way, in the smoker slow over either hickory or oak. MikeS.

Yeah I’m picking up some decent buns today. I was in a grilled cheese mood earlier so I had that potato bread. I do like it rare, plus I figured it would be better as I will be reheating the leftovers. I used hickory that had some bark on it. I saw some site the other day where you could purchase pieces of old wine casks for smoking, sounds interesting.

I can picture that with some horseradish and some thick slices of sharp white cheddar on the side.

Don't worry about those leftovers Theedge, the webmaster is working on a new leftover food emailing program as we speak. Hope that beef retains it's flavor being shipped over the internet. LOOKS DELICIOUS!!!!!
