No thanks!! maybe I am just too set in my egg noodle ways but I'm perfectly happy with 'real' pasta
does anyone know where I can find those real broad,slightly thicker egg noodles? You used to be able to find them in the grocery but not down here in Tampa.

Me too garykg6. My Mom makes the best egg noodles ever. It's an old family recipe handed down from her mother. Cooked in chicken stock, they're excellent. DinoS

They may not be traditional but i think strands of shrimp meat shaped like noodles might be just fine with nice butter and garlic scampi type sauce with a few broiled scallops on the side!!

Shrimp noodles and meat glue? YUCK. Egg noodles won't kill us if eaten in moderation, just like everything else. Gary kg6 - Probably hard to find thick noodles there - just as they are here in Carolinas. You might try one of the online grocers out of Pennsylvania, though it will be costly. Especially good are "kluski" if you can find them. Try www.pennmac.com (Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. - lots of pastas, noodles, Italian goods)

My two favorite are the Mueller's "hearty" and the "dumplin" style. Are you speaking of something broader and thicker?

Is anyone familiar with Reames Frozen Egg Noodles? They are in a clear plastic bag with green print in the (obviously) frozen food area of the store (at least in the Midwest). They are thick but not wide, like homemade.
