This Guy Doesn't Like BBQ

Steve Jones: Not a BBQ fan | SummitDaily.com I would like to express my extreme disapproval of your upcoming Pig BBQ festival in Frisco in June. This festival is an abomination and has absolutely no place in such a beautiful town such as Frisco (or any other town in Colorado for that matter). The consumption (albeit gluttony) of pig flesh is condemned and forbidden in all Holy Scripture. As well, it is an expression of decadence and insensitivity to both the animals who must suffer horrible deaths in factory farms and for the more than two billion human beings on Earth who are literally starving to death for lack of any food whatsoever. I would suggest that the town of Frisco evolve into a new platform that celebrates vegetarian diets and a more environmentally sound, green lifestyle here locally. Why don't you ax the annual Coors sponsored Pig BBQ festival and instead sponsor an annual eco/green festival in its place? Many of us local residents here would really appreciate and welcome it, I'm sure. continued....

"Meat-eating is quickly becoming a thing of the past" I'll bet Steve would jump at the chance to invest in my new meat alternative: Soylent Green. I think there's a spot for him on the production line... Brad

I for one will assert my position in the food chain and it'll be from cold dead hands they pry a pig or beef rib from me.

Whoever Steve Jones is, I find it irritating that folks that are vegans condemn the millions of the world that are not. I understand some folks are vegans and I respect that but I sincerely wish that they would not chastise the millions of folks that are not. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I did the vegan thing for about two years and that was 20 years ago. I was at one of our facilities in Indianapolis and I was at a restaurant and I saw a ribeye, it smelled very good and that was the end of that. Regardless, I enjoyed vegan food but I never ever discussed my preferences with anyone else. It was personal with me. I think it is extremely rude for folks to try to persuade other folks because of their own preferences in food, religion or politics. Just my personal thoughts. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN
