Thomson , Georgia, Barbeque Fri, 06/25/04 1:45 PM (permalink)
I am from the town of Thomson, GA, but have lived in the mid-West for the past 35 years. I have tried all sorts of BBQ, but none can compare with the BBQ from Thomson and McDuffie County. The secret to it's difference is the "hash". I guess this is a by-product using everything that is left over. But, there is nothing like it anywhere else, not even in other areas of Georgia. If you ever happen to be traveling through there, stop at Neal's BBQ on the Augusta Highway - they are only open Thursday - Sunday. It is well worth the trip.
