Tip of the Day...

I love an active Forum......
So I' ve started this thread.
Everybody's got a tip. Share them here.
Some little weird thing you've learned.

Here's one.  Keep Sterno Cans on hand in case you run out of Propane. Can save the day.
Ok, here's two......
Buy every brand and flavor of Beans and keep them stocked. Learn how to adjust the recipe.
Beans are good for you, weenies, not so much. You'll be bringing some home.

Get yourself a guage for your propane tank so you will never run out and no need for sterno cans as a backup.

Just buy another bottle. When one runs out hook up the other and get the empty filled on the way home. You never have to worry about running out that way... how hard is that.
Use12 X 12 foil. Spray a mist of water on the bun and the foil and put them in the BBQ grill. Makes them soft and hot. It also works in the steamer perforated pan but fold and wrap them in the foil paper too, because it stops them from getting soggy. Here's the best part! Do it while you have nothing to do and are just listening to Rush and Sean.

I agree, I am a former LEO and I give a discount (not everytime) but would not post it on a sign.

Why carry multiple propane tanks when carrying one with a guage is all you need? I carry enough stuff around I dont want to carry more than I need for the day.
    Rush and Sean??? Really?

Several specific reasons why the free hot dogs to servicepeople is a bad idea:
    1) It's probably in violation of some law or regulation for public service people to accept freebies.
    2) Giving freebies to public service people, regardless of specific laws or regulations, can be construed as bribery.
    3) As soon as word gets out about the free hot dogs to active military, you will likely be swamped. And they are likely to buy their sodas elsewhere. Soldiers don't get paid a lot.

Cheap cabinet knobs. Drill a simple 1/8 hole in the cross piece of your steam pan lids. Insert screw underneath, screw on knobs. ZERO chance of lid burns. I ran across that tip before my cart ever left the garage and started out that way. Not to mention I was able to find knobs that fit in with the theme of my cart and business name.

I know the Chief here for years and 4 officers on a first name basis and they still insist on  paying for the items. I bet in New Orleans they will eat you out of house and home for free. Think Edward Edwards!! Ha ha!

This is a different world here. One small bowl of chili might last a week. I bet you couldn't give Bacon Jam away here. Everyone here would say, "WHAT?" Really. They want a dog with Ketchup and Mustard the same as the little kids ask. An onion would last a month if it wouldn't rotten.

Hope that's a stainless steel screw.  If not when the steam rusts it your Health Dept. might have something to say about that.    DD

Yup, they are stainless screws. They only go through the cross piece on the lid and do not come even close to contact with any foods.
