Tippy's Charcoal Hearth-Jersey City NJ long RIP

Anyone ever go here? I grew up on their burgers, cooked to juicy perfection on a charcoal hearth that was behind the counter. Tip's was open since the 50's I guess and at one time had an ice cream stand attached to the side of it, which later became Tippy's pizza. It was a great place to get a char grilled burger, nice crisp fries & a delicious slice. My family ate there once a week--good food, good memories.

I used to go there with my brothers and sisters on our way to ST Ann's on Sunday. I still remember the taste I was sorry to see it go almost as sorry as the Texas weiner joint on Hutton and Central.

tippys was the best place in the whole world,evry day during lunch time from ps 25 school my mom picked me up and took me to tippys too have my cheese burger fries and my choice of pie,i allways left my 25cent tip,back in the day lol,,,the two brothers that owned it i think one of them was john they both treated me and my family so good i loved then the one brother wasa boxer,i remember i would always ride my bike in thier lot and i used to love to see thier big bright lights on,,,,it was like being in las vegas at night but brighter,the love that tippys gave up all and the memories it heart breaking to see day that it closed,,,the brothers also allways remembered me and they even gave me a job making the deliveryies,,,,when i was a little boy watching the cooking flame up those bugers and working that char cole grill boy i said i would one day be that guy,,,well iam a chef but i still want to be that guy at tippys i want tippys back and one day god willing a new tippys will be brough back to life and i will be that guy working that grill

Tippy's was on Kennedy (Hudson going way way back) Boulevard a few blocks north of Manhattan Ave.
