Although the festival was not a pleasant experience,we did enjoy many restauranrts along the way
Some were roadfood recomended and others we found on our own .

This place fascinates me. In Amish/Menonite area the foods you can purchase are amazing All kinds of home made soups and broths in plastic cartons in refrigerated shelfs There is a sit down bakery and sandwich shop And the meats are what you don’t usually see at home Scrapple,Souse,Jellied tounge famers cheese and on and on I picked up some farmers cheese, srapple and real bulk dried beef( not the stuff you see in the little jars) CHICKEN N LITTLE ABINGDON VA. Had supper here A real roadfood type place We both had chicken, fried oakra and green beans The lady that served said her mother bought the place in 1981 July 1 CHICKEN N LITTLE Here again for breakfast My wife felt a little out of place since she was the only women in the place except the waitress Bunch of good ol boys like me there(only with different accents) Every time a new one came in, he would take a coffee pot and go around to all the table and fill everyones coffee cups Really made you feel at home July 1 thru July 4 Maryville TN Visiting relatives . Did try a franchised restaurant called CHEDDERS which was pretty good July 4 PAT”S KOUNTRY KITCHEN Mc Cayaville Ga This looked like a really new place Had a good breakfast here A mixed plate of fried potatoes, cheese, onions, peppers ,tomatoes and ham July 5 our last day on the road DIXIE GRILL Live Oak FL. On RT 90 Just a couple blocks east of Rt 129 This is what I consider a true roadfood place We always stop here for breakfast , lunch or dinner when traveling in the area For lunch I had the fried chicken special with two sides, salad bar and ice tea for $5.95 Can’t beat that for really good chicken My wife had the ham steak special In the past I had the fried chicken livers which were great They also have fried chicken gizzards or a combination plate of the two Their liver and onions are very good They have menu with a lot of choices Well, that’s the end of our trip to the disappointing Great American Food and Music Festival at Foxboro I glad we went since we had great food traveling there and back HEARTBURN
