And after all the price increases and headaches from employees, when your day is done you get to go home and start on the paper work for the next day. And every year the paper work gets longer and more difficult. That's the part that I think really sucks the most.

Right!

I don't know what the tax situation is where you are, but keeping track of sales tax and then computing what you owe is fun.

Don't even think of payroll tax computation, even when using Quickbooks.

When you walk in to a restaurant you see the end product.  What goes in to the daily routine is complicated.

Passion?  Hobby?  Profit maker?

You first need to work in a restaurant.

everyone fails at one point or another.....
but no one will fail if they dont get out there and give it a shot....
screw punching a time clock, and screw looking after and running someone elses baby so they can sit back and get fat and happy.....
you like to cook, think your food will cut the mustard, then go for it....
learn what you need to learn, and jump in feet first.... your going to work for someone, might as well be yourself, and might as well be something you have a passion for.....
if you know yourself, and can be honest with yourself, you already know if you have what it takes to make it work and handle the stress, so put yourself to the test and enjoy !!

notice, i did say FEET first and not head first.....lol

ok, thats what i get for posting without catching up on the thread, lol....... you dont cook, you just want something to run..... i think the mini storage idea is a good one for you.... only need to be there everyday, unless you are slammed full all the time, the mini storage business is just as bad as money out the back door, lol....

i think i did a good post though, just didnt pay close enough attention to the details of the thread....how about a corner store, or mini mart ??......
