Today's Roadfood Poll

Regarding today’s Roadfood Poll on the homepage about Autumn’s Best Eating, I’m hoping the “Chile” referred to is perhaps a nice dish of Chile Rellenos or Chile Verde and not the southern term of endearment.

My initial thought was a bowl of texas red.
(Edit - Yes, Chile vs Chili, but I've seen it spelled both ways on menus nationwide.   Ketchup and catsup, same red hotdog sauce. (zing!)

It honestly didn't occur to me that Chile was an alternate spelling for Chili.

    That's because it isn't.

I've seen it used, but in my head Chile is a country, while Chili is something to eat.

Late summer is harvest time for Hatch (and other) chiles. I'd venture to say autumn would be the natural prime time & season to celebrate the recent highly-anticipated bounty.

Especially since all of the selections are items of specific season or harvest vs. traditional prepared dishes of autumn.

    Dearfolk,
Harry's has their Brisket Chili on the menu right now, but it's not chili here... last night I pulled the thin blanket over myself, but I slept without a shirt on, so no wonder. Couldn't ask for nicer Indian Summer weather.
