It seems is great no matter where you go. Have you ever had a bowl that was slightly different and even greater ? If so how ?

Among the best I've had was at Siam Gardens which was at 2nd and Geary. It has been so long since I was there that I'm not even sure it's still there. The version at Cha Am Express (4th and Howard) is sweeter and thicker than most. Some may like it more and some may just find it overly sweet. My usual source is Racha Cafe (Eddy between Polk and Larkin) and it's good but not unusual there.

There's a place in Marina del Rey that adds coconut cream (not milk) and tomatoes. Hot, rich and smooth! (I don't eat the tomatoes)

I don't think the tomatoes are that unusual. I've had them in TKG but I'm not sure at which of the places I get it. Why don't you eat them? I'm not sure about the coconut cream--don't know if I would know if they used it.

I'll never forget a few years back while dating a Korean lady, she called me.She invited me for dinner.I asked her what she was making and she said Beef Lip.What? Beef Lip,What? Beef Lip.Turns out it it was beef ribs she was cooking in her condo on a little charcoal grill!!!-with two little kids in the house! We're still friends as my wife gets her haircuts at her shop and sometimes me too.

quote:Originally posted by jeepguy it was beef ribs she was cooking in her condo on a little charcoal grill!!! I tried that--in the fireplace and out on the balcony. The first smoked up the place (fire not hot enough for the chimney to "draw") and the latter got me in trouble with the HOA. We city dwellers gotta do what we gotta do. Of course through it all I kept the windows wide open and just hoped the monoxide wouldn't get me.
