Too early for pro football?

Okay, I know that it’s just the first game of a long season, but maybe, just maybe, Rex Ryan & Mark Sanchez will allow me to hear or read the phrase “Jet’s Fan” without the seemingly obligatory “long-suffering” preceding it.

I've read and heard enough sentences featuring "Jay Cutler" and "interception" to last me quite a while, thankyouverymuch. And semi-confirmed rumors have Brian Urlacher being out anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to possibly the entire season. Even though he's not the player he once was that's still a huge loss. Fortunately the Bears get the hapless Steelers next week. Happy happy joy joy. Brad

Jets...16/Pats...9 Sanchez does just enough to get the one touch & 3 field goals. For the second week in a row, the D doesn't allow a touchdown. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid!

There's been some really ugly throw-back jerseys celebrating the AFL's 50th anniversary, but the worst has to be what they're making the ref's wear.

The last second(s) touchdown pass to the "unknown receiver" sure made Farve a noted favorite of the Vikings. Not being a real fan of the Vikings or the Packers, nonetheless, next weeks matchup in Green Bay looks to be a lot of emotional hype as well as an interesting game. Peyton had a good night last night. 'Go Colts !

The mighty Jags won their first game after losing the first two but I guess it will be the same spin as last year soon enough if they win a few more, Super Bowl bound. Yea, right. But then again they did look better, lol.

Is it the 50 year nostalgia thing that it putting the oil derricks on the Titans helmets? or the ugly green jerseys? What next...the 'Frank Gifford helmets? Clean skin showing no 'Tats'? How about scheduling all December games (and Playoffs) for outdoor stadiums north of the Mason-Dixon line !!!

Yes, on Sunday the Titans were the Oilers and the Jets were the Titans. Dunno what the deal was with those hideous Seahawks jerseys, though. They used to be in the AFC but have only been around since 1976 so no anniversary link there...maybe that's the color of Puget Sound this time of year? Brad

Brad One of the announcers said it was an older version of a Canadian football team but I didn't catch the specifics. Can you imagine those colors on the Boise St. field?

Old Joke RE- Boise State Astroturf... It is bright Blue w/Orange striping (school colors)... but said to be that color to prevent the cheerleaders from grazing during the games !!! I do recall seeing a news clip of ducks and geese landing on that field one fall practice day...mistaking it for the nearby Boise River. Lots of good jokes in that clip of wildlife and football players dodging each other.

With only 3 games left in the regular season, only Indy has clinched a AFC division title. Aside from KC & Cleveland, everyone else in the conference still has a shot at a division title and/or playoff berth. Very strange year!

I thought last night's Colts/Jax game would be a waste. It Wasn't. The lead changed 9 times before Peyton did his 4th Quarter 'come back' again. It made for a nice Thursday Nite!!

Nothing like the 'skins playing their brand of football on Monday Night. ugh I was rooting for Jim Zorn. I really wanted him to make it, but so many bad decisions were made last night, in prime time no less, I think a new coach is in order. Snyder never really trusted Zorn, and I think Snyder has been a terrible owner, so I've sat in the "Give Zorn a chance" camp all year - as well as the "Sell Dan, Sell" camp, hoping Snyder would pass the franchise to someone who knows how to be an NFL owner. But last night showed that Zorn, unfortunately, isn't ready to head coach an NFL team.

Packers beat the Cards, but are still just a wild card, so they open the playoffs facing the Cards. The Cowboys beat the Eagles to win the NFC East, so they host the Eagles next weekend. The Jets win a wild card spot by beating the Bengals, so they travel to Cinc. in their playoff game. As Yogi once said: "It's like deju vue all over again!".
