Toronto get together?

Are there any Foodies on the board interested in a Toronto get together? And any suggestions as to the venue? Three of my own suggestions would be Sneaky Dee's, the Tulip or Wimpy's,

I'd certainly be interested. I'll offer up Folia Grill although it's a bit small. DT

As a Toronto ex-pat I'd weigh in to say that The Tulip is a Roadfood legend in anyone's book and would highly recommend it. Wimpy's supposedly has good burgers, never been personally so no input there. Sneaky Dee's is known more for being a dive with cheap beer more than anything food-related, IMO FWIW etc. etc. Folia looks tasty but there's about 100 places in that neighborhood serving the same food. If you do go to the The Tulip, and you really should, before or after go up Coxwell Ave. a few blocks to Gerrard St and check out Little India - an amazing unique neighborhood with more than its share of cool Roadfood.

Rhodes As a Toronto ex-pat I'd weigh in to say that The Tulip is a Roadfood legend in anyone's book and would highly recommend it. Here's the website: Tulip Steakhouse Rhodes Wimpy's supposedly has good burgers, never been personally so no input there. Not only does Wimpy's have great burgers and other comfort food such as hot turkey sandwiches, but the one on Kingston Road near Midland fits the stereotype of a diner that's survived from the late forties. It's almost enough to bring tears of nostalgia to a man's eyes. Rhodes Sneaky Dee's is known more for being a dive with cheap beer more than anything food-related, IMO FWIW etc. I like it for the positively gargantuan portions of Mexican food served. I always have to ask them to hold the cilantro though. I also like the Little Italy neighbourhood just to the west on College where my favourite music store Soundscapes is located. Plus my favourite stereo shop, Kromer Radio, is just south on Bathurst right across the street from Reg Hartt's place where he screens cool movies in his living room. And all a two minute walk and leisurely street car ride away from my front door

Hepcat Are there any Foodies on the board interested in a Toronto get together? And any suggestions as to the venue? Three of my own suggestions would be Sneaky Dee's, the Tulip or Wimpy's, It makes me proud that Roadfood has spread to Toronto. I have been there several times and the food is outstanding. I cannot do that as I live in Tennessee and the trip would be certainly too much but I hope you folks get together and enjoy and please keep us updated on your visits. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN
