There is a Totonno's Manhattan on 2ed Ave. just north of 79th St. that serves similar pizza. I have read that they are related, and read that they were not related. Whatever, it is good pizza.

The name is "Totonno's". Brooklyn is the original location, although recently they have opened two shops in Manhattan.
Their pies are the original NY style pie, very thin crust cooked very fast in an 800 degree coal fired oven. The Brooklyn location is all original and hasn't been modernized or renovated. They make their mozzarella fresh in the kitchen, the dough is made up fresh each day, and when they run out of dough, they close the store. The menu lists the following items:
    Small Pizza Large Pizza
Then has a list of available toppings, but honestly, really want the traditional cheese and tomato pie.
The exact location is 1524 Neptune Ave, Brooklyn NY.
    Their website is:
    www.totonnos.com
    Enjoy the pie!

Sorry for the name screw up and thank you for the correction. I only briefly noticed it on the sign as the Food Network pronounced it several times.

It looked interesting and that was the reason I posted it in the first place.

Hey Paul, no problem on the name. I go there often, and my sister and brother in law are even bigger pizza affecianados than I am, and they claim that the other restaurants, in Manhattan and Westchester, while good, just aren't the same as the Brooklyn one. Might be due to the oven...
I also think that the Brooklyn Nathan's is better than the suburban branches, and I think it's 'cause of that old, old well seasoned grill!

Never been to the Brooklyn Totonno's. Went to the first Manhattan one when it opened, never went back. I have three or four neighborhood pizzerias that make a much better pie at half the price.

Lots of stuff from Brooklyn doesn't travel across the East River real well...

You can see a short news clip featuring the inside of Totonno's in Coney Island, its owner Louise as well a piece on Brooklyn pizza here:
