I have a 2004 v6 Pontiac Grand Am. Is this vehicle ok to tow a hot dog cart?

Check your owners manual once you know the weight of the cart. If you don't have the manual, call the service department at the Pontiac dealer.

I bet you could tow the cart, but putting coolers etc...in the trunk might be a bit of a squeeze. Also I hope you have a sun roof for the umbrella. And I'm not sure you want your spare propane bottle riding in the passenger seat next to you. Sorry if I sound flip...I wanted to do this business using my wife's Murano. But, well, it was too small, and she was in Alaska at the time and that Dodge pickup was so pretty...and I was sure she wouldn't mind me trading her car in for it. How do you think that worked out?

I'm just wondering how long your recovery time took after you "surprised" her.

I had to use my wifes ford escort wagon for 2 months. The tranny went out, but it was old and she got a new minivan

I don't even think the '04 Grand Am's come with a bumper hitch.. And I'm pretty sure you couldn't sneak a Reese Hitch type setup underneath that puppy. Though if you where to get an after market type of deal, make sure it's a reputable dealer that will tell ya the weight/load limits.

Thanks. I'll have to ask the dealer, because I'm trying to avoid the added expense of trading it in on something worse on gas and higher insurance.

The owner's manual is available for free on the General Motors web site. I looked up something for my 1995 S10, so I know that they go back at least that far.

I was considering getting a small fishing boat. I talked to a shop about a hitch, they make one for it. The prob is you need a converter for the lites. The hitch was 90 bux and the converter over 250.
