Vince Macek Mosca Vince Macek Looking through YouTube, I just spotted a Shaggs tribute band named My Band Foot Foot. I have officially seen everything now. For the blissfully ignorant, the Shaggs (ca. 1969) were three sisters put into the recording studio by their father before they learned to play (and possibly hold) their instruments; 'My Pal Foot Foot' being the relative high point of their album. I looked up My Band Foot Foot; they are much more than a tribute band. They are J.C. Sanford, John McNeil, Andrew Green, and a few other avant-garde jazz guys! "Rather than attempt to imitate the Shaggs, My Band Foot Foot has drawn on their original tunes as inspiration and arranged them in a wide variety of musical genres, including jazz, blues, musical theatre, chamber music, rock, gospel, and more." They are pretty damn good. Interesting! All I saw was a video of them doing a high-octane cover of "It's Halloween" that did show some good musical chops - and using the Shaggs as a point of reference is always okay in my book! If you go to their myspace page there is a 48 second snippet of video of "You're Something Special To Me" that is pretty impressive. Also, audio of "Who Are Parents", "Philosophy of the World", and "I'm So Happy When You're Near".

Sha Na Na is a tribute band to the artists and sound of 1950s vocal harmony, doo wop and rock n roll The Beatles covered Berry tunes and had songs that sounded like Chuck Berry too but it doesn't make them a tribute band, The famous "ooooooooh" the Beatles used in many of the early hits was a tip of the hat to Little Richard Chuck Berry's music itself wasn't original, he copped his style from the blues and jump blues artists that preceeded him Rock and Roll and Rock without the roll is a new name for an older music form created by dee jay Alan Freed while hosting his Moondog show in Cleveland which is why the crappy hall of fame is there

Mosca We had a local Doors tribute band, The Back Doors. Why do I feel this is a tribute to more than just a band?
