My GF entered my name into some contest with the magazine, Time Out NY and I won a dinner for two at Peanut Butter & Co. We kept forgetting to use it, so I went the day before it expired. The dinner consisted of two sandwiches (chips and carrot sticks included) and two drinks (water or soda). My GF didn't want the sandwich I brought home, so I took it to work later that night. Here are the sandwiches I had:
My Cookie Dough Surprise sandwich (smooth PB, vanilla cream cheese and chocolate chips on white bread). This really did taste like a coookie dough sandwich, in a good way and I loved it. Would definitely get it again.
My full meal consisting of the sandwich, chips, carrot sticks and a Stewart's Black Cherry Soda.
A close-up of my Dark Chocolate Dreams sandwich (dark chocolate PB, cherry preserves and shredded coconut). This was wonderful! The combination of the dark chocolate PB and the cherry preserves was incredible. Almost like a Black Forest sandwich and there were big chunks of cherries in it too.
A full shot of the sandwich. I'm not sure where they get their bread, but they don't skimp with tiny sandwiches. These are pretty substantial.

More shots of the decorations inside. They have collected some old tins from peanut butters past.
I don't know if these are authentic or from a retro type store, but some of the names sound familiar to me. I think they were before my day, but does anyone recognize these peanut butter brands?
An outside shot of the shop. Sorry, I didn't get there before dusk and I'm still struggling with night shoots. I do like the look of the storefront. It's definitely eye-catching for the neighborhood.
I just had a really comforting lunch yesterday at and wanted to share some pics with all of you.
This is a little sandwich shop in Greenwich Village that I've been going to for the past 4 years. The guy who owns it opened it in 1998 and it's based upon the line of peanut butters he has been making. Pictured here are all 6 of the varieties that they have.
Some of the sandwich offerings on the menu.
I loved this postcard on the wall. The inspiration for the "Elvis" sandwich.
The walls are covered with framed classic peanut butter ads. There's even one with Basil Rathbone (Sherlock Holmes) shilling for Skippy or Jif?
My lunch: an "Elvis" sandwich and a cold skim milk.
A close-up shot of the "Elvis". A grilled peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich. I, of course, had mine with bacon! Hail to the King, baby!!
Looks like a tasty treat. Haven't tried them yet.
