RE: Truck stops

Truck stops. What a wonderful thing!I came to appreciate them at a MUCH HIGHER level a few years back when motorcycling extensively. Traveled 41 states and NEVER trailered my bike once. As you can imagine I encountered some rough weather from time to time. When I faced conditions much worse than a few rainshowers and several times snow, I was hoping to find a truck stop. Several reasons. They were a refuge, much better than a restaurant or convenience store. Dripping like a cold dog just out of icy water, I was more times than not offered a free cup of coffee to help me warm up. Go tidy up, find a welcoming chair to relax in, speak with truckers, inquire about the weather conditions the way I was heading. When rested up a bit, go enjoy a meal of comfort food. Maybe hit the road afterwards or simply go watch a little TV, relax and visit awhile longer.
I have great respect for truck stop offerings!!
