Tupelo

Will be in Tupelo, Mississippi on Thursday evening. Any good Roadfood places there?

gloster street has the majority of restaurants in Tupelo.  I like Vanelli's for Italian -Greek and Harvey's for American. both are south of rt 78.

Unfortunately, the national chains have moved into Tupelo in a big way and killed a lot of the independent restaurants.  Fairpark Grill and Harvey's aren't exactly Roadfood places but are very good.
 
For BBQ, I would recommend Bishop's in Saltillo (just off US45 north of Tupelo).

Pulled pork is excellent.  Fried green tomatoes and peppery slaw are very good too.

Urbanspoon shows Shannon location but I've only been to Verona location.

Fair Park Grill is one of the best.  You can watch the game at the bar.  Romie's has outstanding comfort food. Whitesides has good country buffet.  Harvey's is one of the best.
