Ahhhh, Justin Wilson, I sure miss him! Yep Joe, CK always posts some interesting recipes. I have not tried the Wolf Brand turkey. I think someone said they liked it, in one of the canned chili threads here. Joe

I once had a shrine for Justin at my house. A picture, a cut out from a box that contained some of the products sold w/ his name on them that said "I garontee", the empty bottles of the products, and some other stuff. My sweety made me dismantle it, shoot! I am still hoping to try making some smoked turkey chili this season. Joe

quote:Originally posted by PapaJoe8 You have maybe not had any good turkey chili Joe. It can be good stuff. Like someone here said, any meat can work, and be good. Even a vegi chili can be good. You can't think it's gonna taste like red meat chili though. It's a different kinda bird. Joe PapaJoe8, I bow to your wisdom. I had a darn good bowl, acutally several bowls, of vegetarian chili last weekend. There is an organic produce market and vitamin store across the freeway from work that has a brunch everyday. They had vegetarian chili so I thought I would try it. I really did not miss the meat. If I was looking for meatless chili this would be it. joe

I made the habanero turkey chili and it was very tasty, though the hubby (a die-hard "Texas Red" chili maker)refused to acknowledge that it was chili and claimed the texture of the turkey "tasted funny". Other folks that ate it loved it and wanted the recipe. We miss Justin Wilson, too... I was lucky enough to meet him at a book-signing once, and gave the autographed cookbook to hubby for Christmas that year.

Welcome to roadfood Lady! Nice to have anouther chili cook here. Folks are picky about names for chili, and pizza, also. I learned that when someone brought up PBJ pizza. Thers a "Without it, it ain't Real Chili" thread also, that expounds on the name thing. The newest wisdom here is that you can use whatever meat, and put whatever you want, in your chili. Your turkey habanero chili sounds great. Joe
