Here is my goal. I want to make a pizza with minced beef meat and that is the sauce I have problem with. I would like something very close to American tastes and was wondering if you guys could give me an hand on this. What sauce would you pair with beef meat and how would you prepare it? Any help would be gratefully received.

Would use tomato based sauce like a BBQ sauce from Texas. We have a BBQ Pizza here but is pork and not beef. A little bit milder, beef is strong and overwheming. But still use are BBQ sauces from same region. A good cheese for that is any Mexican based.

Nice smoker. BBQ pizza here is pork based with a some what sweet tomato base sauce. Google BBQ pizza. You are going to open a can of worms(american saying)here. BBQ is highly held among regions here. Everyone different and they hold true to there roots. Tomato based,Vinegar based, mustard based,Pork parts or whole, beef and other animals or fish. We also argue over types of crust for pizza. Thin, thick, and what ever suits them. Hey look up Chicago Style- now that is different for you. Most beef here is hamburger and a tomato based sauce with oregano, and sweet somewhat(very little).

Are you looking for recipes? Many out there. Google pizza sauces. We are all over the board. North, South, East, and west. We cannot agree on crust how are we going to agree on sauce. As stated before we are as diverse as can be and that what makes our food so interesting. Don't think anyone has an American Sauce. But any BBQ sauce you enjoy could work. Beef meens tomato based.

Hey just googled BBQ beef pizza and found all sorts of recipes. Mostly looks like home but could be brought to commercial. Never seen it but it is a start.

Why not make a thick beef gravy, use that as your sauce for the meat pizza!

Thanks Curbside for your replies. I had found different recipes before I posted this thread, but I am looking for something much like a sauce you could put on a based tomato pizza. I use sauce on sea fruits or tuna pizzas derived from parsley and garlic sauce and an other one used on chicken or spicy sausages derived from chili sauce. Just the fact of putting the sauce at the end of the topping gives the pizza a really good taste. That is what I am looking for, but with an true American taste.

Also, to conform to health dept. regulation, I must use frozen minced meat... so I need a sauce that is strong in taste to offset the poor quality of the beef.

Yes would give that sauce you had a link to a try. You can always experiment later. That would give a basic BBQ sauce.

Just don't call it "typical American pizza". Pizza sauce is a very diverse topic. Pizza is very regional, throughout the United States. For a basic and traditional American pizza, I would not use a BBQ based sauce. Unless, you want to make it as a BBQ specialty pizza. A "universal" pizza sauce is made with a tomato base, without all the BBQ flavors. I have a great recipe, but I do not have measurements memorized, and I am not at home right now. I will post it, when I get home.

The health department requires you to use poor quality products?

Just took something into concideration. By minced do you mean what we call ground beef. Or is this truely minced beef.
