Gross!!!!!!!!! That's why I like to bring my own food on planes. I usually fly jetblue and song and now you have to buy overpriced food on the plane but at least it is mostly all packaged food like ritz crackers and little tubs of spreadable cheese. Hopefully it is safe to eat.

I remember brown slime from the days when airlines served what they called entrees. They referred to it as gravy. Maybe pink slime is a Hawaiian thing. I wonder how they get it to ooze.

Probably a dash of vinegar and baking soda to give it the ooze effect..

Curious about the dates on this item. The news article is dated 17 May. The letter from the government to the food shop is dated 21 April. So, working back: How long did it take for the government to get enough bureaucratic approval to actually send the 21 April letter? How long did creating the first and subsequent drafts of the 21 April letter take? How long was the investigation that led to the first draft of the 21 April letter? How long did it take for investigators to act after they received the first report of bad practice in the kitchen? How long was thing going on before the first report of bad practice was received? How long have airline customers been dealing with pink oozing slime without knowing it? Mmmmmm...pink slime.

Nasty, Disgusting, Gross and Diplorable are some of the words that come to mind! Good God, that's just unexcusable. The health inspector just went through my catering division and could find only one thing.....a reach-in fridge without a thermometer.......AH! says I, it fell and here it is. So the guy was pretty mad cuz he had to give me a 100%. I don't think that my flights this weekend from General Electric, Nextel, Tyson Foods, Evergreen, Era and Signature would appreciate pink oozing slime on their food.
