Ukranian Food in Chicago

Had lunch yesterday at The Magic Jug located at 6354 W. Irving Park Road (Irving & Narragansett) in Chicago. This place is small (8 tables) and looks almost Scandinavian as it's got lots of wood and fresh herbs/flowers on each table. We started with delicious borscht, had 2 types of dumplings:(ve-rin-a-key) and one that started with a "p" (served with sour cream). We also had stuffed cabbage and some braised meat with beet and cabbage salads and stacks of potato. Very reasonable, from scratch cooking. Homemade, but not at all stodgy. We'll definitely return.

One of the things that makes Chicago so neat is the endless variety of ethnic foods one can have, as well as shops that sell ethnic clothes, etc. I remember one street I was on had a hispanic grocery, russian deli, and a handful of other ethinic varieties, all on one city block.
