I was walking by the Carnegie Deli last night on my break from work and saw a sign in the window. I took a picture with my phone, but being the technology rube, I have no idea how to get it from my phone to Roadfood. Anyway, the sign said UNITED CARNEGIE PICKLE EATING CONTEST WEDNESDAY MAY 21 11:30 AM SHARP TO HONOR NATIONAL PICKLE WEEK fyi- billyboy I'll try to make it and report back.

Let me know what a pickle looks like fleeing a body. Hmmmm....errr....nevermind. I'd be interested to know if this type of contest brings in the big competitive eater names. Are there some types of food they avoid for taste or other reasons?

My nine year old daughter, a wisp of a girl, apparently ate so many pickles at Carnegie last month that she was encouraged to enter this contest by the management.
