They should be knocked out for putting a hot dog list together that does not include any hot dogs...in New Jersey. Seriously.

It's funny. They put Pink's on the list when Pink's has an Urbanspoon (like it) rating of 81%.

    Ridiculous.

Gives me a couple ideas for lunch or dinner while on the road. I'll choose to be happy with what's on it not what isn't.

Nothing from New Jersey or Connecticut. And Dirty Frank's in Columbus? Those folks don't get out much, I guess.

When the list started off with IHOH in Anchorage, Alaska, I knew we were in trouble!  But then it got worse.  The Original Hot Dog Shop in Pittsburgh was NOT on the list.

Keep in mind people, this is comprised of just places on the Urbanspoon web site. If your favorite place isn't on Urbanspoon or doesn't get much action there it won't be on this list. If you want your favorite on the list, put them there and get others to vote.
They didn't say these were the Best in the country, they're just saying these are the ones that got the most action on Urbanspoon.

    Urbanspoon is a popularity contest.
The places with the most posts and reviews get the most recognition.
It takes a lot of posts and likes to move up the list.
They may have the greatest dogs in the world but if no one's talking & posting about them, they're off the radar.
    C & C's only has 3 posts, and 75 "Likes" but a good 89% rating.
Incidentally, I didn't see any post from you on there??
You can be Campaign Chairman for the " Let's Get C & C's on The Urbanspoon Best Hot Dogs" list.
The list is not suspect---The lack of posters is suspect.
If they're that good, why are not more people posting about them???
Don't blame Urbanspoon, blame C & C's Customers like yourself.

SMART Restaurant owners use Urbanspoon as a Marketing tool.
There's a pizza joint in our town that AGGRESSIVELY recruited their customers to post write-ups on Urbanspoon.
As a result, they got fabulous recognition.
Local newspapers started writing about them.
Ended up on the "Best Of" lists.
New customers would come in to try them out.
Now the place is packed all the time--and--- they don't even sell beer!
Is it good pizza? Yeh, it's pretty good.
Is it the best pizza in the Valley? Maybe not.
Is it one of the best promoted pizza joints?
    It sure is!
    118 reviews, 741 votes and a 95% "Likes" rating.
And all the promotion didn't cost them a Dime!

Congratulations to another good buddy, Skip Murray, owner of Dat Dog! Skip and I became friends on Roadfood years ago when we were both in the hot dog cart business. We once shared lunch at Hot Doug's (another Urbanspoon winner) where we discussed life after street vending. Skip graduated from carts in England and NOLA to stands(restaurants). He's opening his third hot dog stand in the very near future. Way to go Skip! I'm so proud of you! www.datdognola.com
